What is RoHS?
RoHS stands for "Restriction of the use Of certain Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronic equipment". This directive will ban placing on the EU market any new electrical and electronic equipment containing more than agreed levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants as of from 1 July 2006.
How RoHS affect Suyama's products?
RoHS applies to electrical and electronic products and not only the components and accessories. However, in order to produce a compliant product, that product must not contain non-compliant parts. Suyama are ensuring the compliance of all our available products, for our customers who are using them in the European region.
Is Suyama responsible for complying with RoHS?
This directive states that the producer is responsible for compliance. The "producer" meaning any person who, manufactures and sells electrical and electronic equipment under his own brand, reselling under his own brand equipment produced by other suppliers, or imports & exports electrical and electronic equipment on a professional basis into a Member State. (European region)
